Having got up at 4am for the start of the Eng v Ind test yesterday, it’s too much of a stretch to do so again today. Root is looking very relaxed out there, on 182 as I write this. Top of his game. 🏏

The sun is out and I’ve got Test Match Special on the radio, listening to Eng v Sri Lanka. If I ignore the just-above-zero temperature and the possibility of snow later on, I could almost imagine it’s summer.
